Regional Watershed Alliance Meeting #1/23 was held via video conference, on Wednesday March 22, 2023, pursuant to section C.12 of the TRCA’s Board of Directors Administrative By-Law. The Acting Chair, Joanne Hyde, called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m.

    THAT Ms. Joanne Hyde, Clerk and Manager, Policy, TRCA, Ms. Victoria Kramkowski, Government and Community Relations Specialist, Peel and York Watersheds, Government and Community Relations, and Ms. Jackie Ho, Planner I, Infrastructure, Planning & Permits, be appointed as scrutineers for the election of officers of Toronto and Region Conservation Authority's Regional Watershed Alliance.

    WHEREAS TRCA’s Youth Council has been active for four years, and the 2022 Youth Council Executive have completed their most recent one-year term;

    THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED THAT the Youth Council Executive’s term be extended for an additional year for those members who wish to continue;

    THAT the Regional Watershed Alliance accept the recruitment of additional Youth Council Executives to fill vacant seats;

    AND FURTHER THAT RWA accept the appended report summarizing the work completed and evaluation of the Youth Council’s 2022-2023 term.

Victoria Kramkowski, Government and Community Relations Specialist, Peel and York Watersheds Government and Community Relations asked that members consider the role of Chair or Vice Chair prior to the next meeting. If you are interested, please reach out to Victoria or Joanne Hyde, Clerk and Manager Policy.  

RWA members are encouraged to view TRCA's events calendar as it is updated with webinars and e-learning activities, guided hikes, festivals and other seasonal events, educational workshops, and public consultations. 

The Government and Community Relations team will be planning various site visits over the  next few months. All RWA members will be invited and attendance is optional, but the visits will provide members with the opportunity to see some of the sites being discussed at these meetings and learning about during the presentations.  

Councillor Pickles praised staff on the work being completed in The Meadoway. He mentioned that there have been a number of open houses about the project in Pickering, creating a lot of interest and building excitement as the project continues.
