TRCA’s Agricultural Land Use Policy allows for agricultural lease agreements on TRCA lands. One such partnership is an agreement with the City of Brampton for use of TRCA lands at the McVean Farm site in order to establish a unique youth-oriented community garden program called the Black Youth Training Farm. Working with TRCA, our community partners, the Asase Institute, En’tyce Mentorship and Community Services and UpRooted, to be able to provide an opportunity for black youth to gain valuable experience in the workforce, leadership opportunities and education at TRCA’s McVean Farm site.
